You’ll only need a few ingredients to grill this tasty yet simple East Coast Style Jerked Beef recipe. It’s a great meal idea if you’re tight on time or short on ingredients. This recipe pairs well with a green salad or maybe some baked beans. Jerked Beef is always a hit at backyard barbecues.

We’re going to show you just exactly how to make it! Now, grab a beverage, wash your hands and let’s get after it!

RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Prep the beef by slicing it into ½ to ¾ inch strips or chunks parallel to the grain of the meat.

Step 2: In a bar pan or baking sheet spread enough brown sugar, salt & pepper evenly across the sheet area to make the first layer of seasoning. Use salt & pepper to your taste, we tend to lean towards lots of salt and pepper. (Just be sure to use enough to balance the brown sugar).

Step 3: Place the strips of beef across the pan on top of the dry ingredients evenly

Step 4: Spread enough brown sugar, salt & pepper evenly on top of the next layer of beef.

Note: You may need a few layers of beef to fit on the pan, that’s okay, just ensure that you add a layer of brown sugar, salt and pepper in between each layer and coat the top of the final layer with the dry ingredients as well.

Step 5: Once all of the beef is layered and covered with the dry ingredients, seal the container or cover the pan with foil or wrap and ensure it is air-tight.

Step 6: Refrigerate for a minimum of 24 hours. (We like 48 to 36 hours for tougher cuts of beef)

Note: Remove beef from the refrigerator 30 to 45 minutes before you plan to grill.

Step 7: Preheat your grill to Medium High Heat

Step 8: Place your strips on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes, flip and cook the other side for 5-7 minutes. Once both sides have been cooked, remove from grill and let rest tented for 10 minutes before serving.

Bon Appetit.
